Merdeka Colouring Contest on Aug 20 to mark Independence Day

MIRI: Boulevard Shopping Mall Miri will be conducting a Merdeka Colouring Contest from 10am on Aug 20 at its Exhibition Hall at Level 3 to mark Independence Day.

According to Konny Koh, assistant manager (Function and Marketing Department) of Boulevard Shopping Mall Miri, the contest is open to kindergarten and primary students.

“It will be divided into three groups: Group A for Kindergarten (4 – 6 years old); Group B for Primary 1 to 3 (7 – 9 years old); and Group C for Primary 4 to 6 (10 – 12 years old).

“The contest allows children to express their creativity using colours. It is also a great opportunity for them to learn about Merdeka Day,” he said in a press conference yesterday at the shopping mall.

Organised by Boulevard Shopping Mall and supported by Carrie Junior as main sponsor, registration is open now and entry forms can be obtained from and submitted to the Information Counter at the Upper Ground Floor of the mall.

Participants must bring their own colouring materials.

“If necessary, they can bring their own table, chair and hard board. Each participant is entitled to one colouring paper only.

“They must register at the booth an hour before the start of the contest and they must complete the colouring within two hours.

Attractive prizes including trophy, hamper and certificate of participation await the top three winners and consolation winners.

Each participant will receive a door gift.

Registration will close on Aug 16.
