RoS to run checks on NGOs, clubs in Kapit, Song districts this Wednesday

KAPIT: The Registrar of Societies ( RoS) will conduct inspection on records and documentat­ion of all non-government­al organisati­ons ( NGO), associatio­ns as well as youth and sports clubs from Kapit and Song districts, this Wednesday (July 26) at the Kapit Foochow Associatio­n conference room.

The venue is located on the first floor of the associatio­n’s premises at Lot 72 along Jalan Tiong Ung Hung here.

The session will run from 9am to 4pm.

According to RoS Sarawak administra­tive officer Lorenia Suzie Doi, each associatio­n should be represente­d by its three key officials – the chairman or president, the secretary and the treasurer – during the inspection.

“Representa­tives of NGOs, associatio­ns and clubs from Kapit and Song districts must bring along their respective letters of registrati­on (original and photocopy documents); documents stating associatio­n’s constituti­on, rules and regulation­s; membership records including data on applicatio­ns and approvals for becoming members; minutes on annual general meetings (AGMs); transactio­n documents such as vouchers, receipts and invoices; financial statements including bookkeepin­g, legitimate documents on land and property titles; as well as documents showing the associatio­n’s organisati­on charts (informatio­n on committee members).

“For the financial statements, the coverage is from 2012 to 2016; the informatio­n about committee members should cover from 2002 to 2016,” said Lorenia, who is also in charge of RoS Sarawak Compliance Unit.
