RoS to run checks on NGOs, clubs in Kapit, Song districts this Wednesday
KAPIT: The Registrar of Societies ( RoS) will conduct inspection on records and documentation of all non-governmental organisations ( NGO), associations as well as youth and sports clubs from Kapit and Song districts, this Wednesday (July 26) at the Kapit Foochow Association conference room.
The venue is located on the first floor of the association’s premises at Lot 72 along Jalan Tiong Ung Hung here.
The session will run from 9am to 4pm.
According to RoS Sarawak administrative officer Lorenia Suzie Doi, each association should be represented by its three key officials – the chairman or president, the secretary and the treasurer – during the inspection.
“Representatives of NGOs, associations and clubs from Kapit and Song districts must bring along their respective letters of registration (original and photocopy documents); documents stating association’s constitution, rules and regulations; membership records including data on applications and approvals for becoming members; minutes on annual general meetings (AGMs); transaction documents such as vouchers, receipts and invoices; financial statements including bookkeeping, legitimate documents on land and property titles; as well as documents showing the association’s organisation charts (information on committee members).
“For the financial statements, the coverage is from 2012 to 2016; the information about committee members should cover from 2002 to 2016,” said Lorenia, who is also in charge of RoS Sarawak Compliance Unit.
