KUCHING: The first ever Indonesia - Sarawak Coffee Festival begins today at the CityOne Megamall, featuring products from 69 coffee-related businesses from Indonesia.

Indonesian Consul- General in Kuching, Jahar Gultom said the three- day festival will provide an opportunity for local coffee enthusiasts to discover coffee products from Indonesia, which is well known as a coffee-producing country.

“This is also a platform for Indonesian coffee business people to share their experience and to form networking with the local business community as well as visitors from Sabah and Singapore.

“The launching ceremony will be held this Saturday (tomorrow). Do come and visit this festival to experience the many coffee products from Indonesia,” he told a press conference yesterday.

He had earlier officiated at a coffee workshop held at a cafe here in conjunction with the festival.

Jahar said the festival, held from today until Sunday from 10am to 10pm, features 20 booths where coffee lovers can sample the product variety.

“As you all know, coffee from Indonesia has its own taste and aroma,” he said.

He also hoped the participants from Indonesia would have a fruitful outing in Kuching and able to expand their business network.

Meanwhile, flyers on the event mentioned that a veteran Indonesian artiste Hetty Koes Endang will make a special appearance at the event.
