UPP scripts development plan to transform Sibu in next five years

-

SIBU: United People’s Party (UPP) has come up with a development plan that will help upgrade and transform Sibu in the next five years.

Second Finance Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, who is UPP president, said the plan was realised following the gathering of minds between UPP leaders, as well as the UPP potential candidates for Sibu and Lanang.

“The two (potential candidates) have been working together. Let us all join forces with them in bringing Sibu to greater heights within the next five years,” he said at the launch of the Sibu Development Plan 1 yesterday.

Both candidates are named ‘Andrew’ — former Sibu Municipal Ccouncil (SMC) deputy chairman Dato Andrew Wong Kee Yew for Sibu, and educationist Andrew Ting Kee Nguan for Lanang.

Meanwhile Soon Koh said among other things, the development plan would cover all aspects of community life including public transport, affordable housing, tourism, e-commerce, education, environment, public health and youth development. The UPP would carry out the plan within the next five years through scientific, creative and innovative moves.

He said the slogan for the plan ‘Together We Work for Sibu’s Future’ is all pointing towards the direction of better days ahead, should everybody rally behind these two UPP potential candidates.
