Two motorcycle accidents leave riders with broken legs

KUCHING: Two motorcycli­sts were badly injured after they were involved in separate road accidents on Monday.

The first accident saw two motorcycli­sts colliding into each other at the Jalan Haji TahaJalan Satok intersecti­on around 8pm.

The crash left one motorcycli­st, aged 24, with a broken left leg and the other with only minor injuries.

The former was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital ( SGH) and admitted for further treatment.

The second accident involved a 19-year- old male motorcycli­st who collided with a car at Tanjung Bundong, Kota Samarahan around 10pm.

Members of the public helped to move the victim, who suffered a broken right leg, from the middle of the road to the side before calling for an ambulance.

The victim was also hospitalis­ed at SGH for further treatment.

In an unrelated incident, a man behind the wheel of a pickup truck suffered minor injuries after his vehicle overturned at the Mile 3 underpass here on Monday night.

It was learned that the fourwheel drive vehicle was heading towards the city from Jalan Batu Kawah when the mishap happened around 9pm.

The victim managed to exit the pickup truck on his own and was sent to a nearby private hospital for medical treatment.
