MAHB launches billing portal, vows to resolve Passenger Service Charge issue

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) has launched its newlydevel­oped Online Billing Portal for the benefit of nearly 15,000 clients, vendors and business partners, including airline companies.

The airport operator, in a statement yesterday, said the portal would enable a more efficient and transparen­t finance process for all its partners.

“Business partners will be provided with a unique ID that will allow them to access the portal and view informatio­n such as billing and payment dates,” it said. It added the initiative was undertaken with a view to facilitate its partners in accessing and validating billing details and payment status online and on demand.

“With this in place, we expect the collection process to be more effective for both our accounts department and our partners,” it added.

Meanwhile, MAHB said it was working closely with all its major airline partners in resolving the payments regarding collection of Passenger Service Charges (PSC).

It said the company continued its practice of regular engagement with all its airline partners to discuss any rising operationa­l and financial matters.

“MAHB values the relationsh­ip it has with all airline partners equally. We are constantly looking at ways to improve and enhance the billing and payment processes,” it said.

PSC is a government regulated charge payable to MAHB that are collected by airlines in advance from passengers by including it in the ticket price.

The charges is only payable when passengers board their aircraft and is used for the maintenanc­e and continuous enhancemen­t of facilities and services at the airport. – Bernama
