30 attend research skills training workshop
KUCHING: Thirty participants attended a research skills training workshop organised by Sarawak Islamic Information Centre (SIIC) on Wednesday.
A press release yesterday said they comprised officers from government agencies, Islamic non- governmental organisations ( NGOs) and institutions of higher learning.
World of Assembly Muslim Youth (WAMY) advisory board chairman Datuk Prof Emeritus Abang Abdullah Abang Mohamad Alli conducted the workshop.
“In this workshop, participants were provided with a broad range of essential skills and knowledge to enhance their effectiveness as researcher or future researchers.
“The presenter also guides the participants on preparing and writing an effective research,” added the statement.
Abang Abdullah was appointed SIIC research fellows early this year.
The appointments of fellows are to assist the centre in different areas of expertise especially in communicating and researching on Islamic knowledge in Sarawak.
Established in 2008, SIIC has held programmes and activities to promote and communicate the universality of Islam in order to create a better understanding and an enhanced appreciation of Islam among the multi- ethnic and multi-religious people of Sarawak.
