SDNU Sibu to hold Family Day on Aug 12
SIBU: Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) Sibu will hold its Family Day 2017 event at Permai Lake Garden this Aug 12, from 7.30am to 5pm.
According to organising chairman Chambai Lindong, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi has been invited to officiate at the event.
He said the gathering aimed to recruit new members as well as to foster closer friendships among its members.
“Additionally, we will also provide opportunities for members to mingle with various government agencies’ officers and community heads whom we have invited. They could enquire on matters related to the development of the Dayak community especially in connection with our children’s education.”
He also stated that members’ children who received excellent results in public examinations including at tertiary and doctorate levels would be given incentive awards.
“Among the activities to be held are an aerobics exercise session, drawing and colouring contest for children, telematch and karaoke competition,” he said.
Chambai, who is a lawyer by profession, said he expected 700 members and their families to turn up for the event.
He said members with children achieving outstanding results in public examinations may come forward to register their children’s name(s) with Johnady Janton at 013- 8023065 on or before Aug 8.
