Camera lovers try out EOS Canon 6D Mark II

-

KUCHING: Canon camera enthusiasts here were given the chance to try out the latest EOS Canon 6D Mark II yesterday as part of the company’s nationwide roadshow.

Billed as the lightest full-frame DSLR in the market, the EOS Canon 6D Mark II also boasts a 26.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor that enables finely detailed depictions of subjects and delivers rich colour shades, low noise and a high dynamic range due to the latest sensor technology.

“Since the launch of EOS Canon 6D in 2012, it is high time that the EOS Canon 6D Mark II is unveiled,” said Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd senior branch manager Ho Bak Kee when met at the roadshow stop in a hotel here yesterday.

Noting that there were more than 80 participants the event, Ho was confident that the EOS Canon 6D Mark II would quickly make a mark in Sarawak as it promises to fulfil the demands of semiprofessional users.

He added that the attractive price tag of less than RM10,000 for a full-frame camera is also one of the major highlights of the EOS Canon 6D Mark II in the current market.

He pointed out that the camera is equipped with an ISO of 100-40,000 (expandable to ISO 50,000 and 102,400) and a 45-point all crosstype Auto Focus (AF) with 27-point F8 compatible AF.

“The EOS Canon 6D Mark II is also able to approximately shoot 6.5fps (frames per second) continuous shooting and uses dual pixel CMOS AF for live view shooting.”

Also highlighted was the 7,650pixel RGB+IR metering sensor, live view Servo AF and Full HD, 60p movie with digital zoom and 1.04million dots on the 3.2-inch variangled LCD touchscreen panel.

According to Ho, the dual-pixel CMOS AF is effective for even more precise focusing when using the live view magnified display.

By pressing the magnification button to enlarge the image by five to 10 times, the user would only need to check the focus and shoot with more accuracy, versus the normal screen.

On another note, this year also marks the celebration of EOS System’s 30th anniversary, which sees the release of 12 new EOS Canon models — a testimony of the company’s resilient focus to remain as the leading brand in the camera industry.

“Canon has been the world’s number one DSLR for 14 consecutive years since 2003. To date, we have sold 120 million lenses worldwide,” Ho added.

The EOS Canon 6D Mark II roadshow will also take place in Johor Bahru and Ipoh in the coming weeks. Kuching was the fourth leg, after previous stops in Melaka, Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu. The EOS Canon 6D Mark II will be priced at RM8,899 (body only), while the EOS Canon 200D including kit lens (18mm55mm) will be priced at RM2,999.
