MIRI: Members of the Inner Wheel ( IW) in Districts 330 and 331 ( Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak) are urged to live up to the 2017-2018 International IW theme of ‘Leave a Lasting Legacy’ in their work for the community and to promote the IW.

Making the call, Lucia Goh - the District Chairman for Inner Wheel District 331 said to achieve such a goal they need to choose important projects (irrespective of size) and be committed in implementing them.

“The people decide whether your project is worth remembering - your compassion and dedication in implementing the projects to benefit the community will shine through and be remembered,” Goh said during a recent two- day visit (Aug 2 - 3) to the IW Club, Miri.

Joining her for the statewide visit was deputy national representative for Districts 330 and 331, Nany Gotze.

At the hi-tea, Goh installed office-bearers for IWC Miri headed by newly elected president Annie Tan Siew Ngin and inducted two new members: Parveen Kaur and Amy Lagang.

They visited the nearby Sunflower Centre to know its operation and activities for autistic students there as well as another autistic centre in Piasau operated by the National Autistic Society of Malaysia ( Nasom) Miri branch.

At Nasom Miri branch, Goh presented a cheque from IWC Miri for the centre’s electricity bill.

Goh commended IWC Miri for helping organisations like Nasom Miri that are in need of fi nancial help, and had been running on deficit for the past few months.

Other activities organised for Goh and Nany were fellowship dinner and karaoke sessions where they were treated to cultural performances and signature local food in Miri.
