Jogathon, mass aerobics exercise mark Sacred Heart’s relocation anniversar­y

SIBU: A jogathon and a mass aerobics exercise were among the activities held on Saturday in conjunctio­n with the 50th anniversar­y of Sacred Heart Secondary School’s relocation from Mission Road to Oya Road.

The jogathon saw 37 runners, comprising mostly students, being jointly flagged off by first vice chairman of the school board of management, Lau Swee Nguong, and treasurer Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau Lee Ming.

The aerobics session, meanwhile, was held at the school’s basketball court and involved some 800 students.

The 3.3km jogathon was divided into seven categories – Men’s Closed, Boys 13, Boys 14, Boys 15, Boys 16 Years and Above, Old Boys and Form Six Girls.

In the Men’s Closed, Lee Kah Keng was first, followed by Peter Tan Teck Sen Wong Chee Ping at second and third respective­ly.

For the Boys 13, Nicholas Yek Ei Zhe crossed the line first, with Sebastian Johnson placing second and Augustine Ujang, third.

Lau Teck Lung, Godfery Ting and Thah Lieng Hua were the top three respective finishers in the Boys 14 category, while in the Boys 15, the top runner was Lucas Wong Sie Hong followed by Quin Ling at second and Steven Bundin, third.

Edward Wong Bak Chao finished first in the Boys 16 and Above category, while Roderick Raymond and Tie Xian Sieng placed second and third respective­ly.

Joan Wong Xiao Ling came out tops in Form Six Girls category, followed by Wee Siaw Feng at second place and Olivea Benjamin, third.
