New online streaming miniseries to entice, educate tech-savvy generation
KUCHING: In a move to educate and promote small and medium enterprises (SME), SME Corporation Malaysia ( SME Corp) has taken its initiative online by introducing a new online streaming miniseries drama to guide start-ups and microenterprises in Malaysia.
In a press statement, SME Corp explained that this miniseries drama is aimed to attract and encourage more Malaysians, especially tech- savvy youths, to consider entrepreneurship as one of their career options.
“It is an outreach initiative to disseminate information about the programmes and assistance provided by various Ministries and Agencies to SMEs, as well as to provide useful information to SMEs in developing their business,” it said.
As the Central Coordinating Agency, SME Corp said this initiative was in line with the ‘ 2017 Start-up and SME Promotion Year’.
The miniseries drama, deemed ‘Chor & Chah’ and co-produced by Suhan Movies, is now available through social media ( YouTube) since August 1, 2017.
It features talents such as Saharul Ridzuan, Ummi Nazeera, Ruhainies, Hafreez Adam, Luqman Hafiz and Kazar.
Among Agencies involved in this drama are SME Bank, MARA, DDEC, FAMA, MARDI, MAMPU, SSM and Pos Malaysia.
“For the first season of this drama, it focuses on incentives, grants, requirements and steps for starting a business that should be taken by new entrepreneurs, especially youths who want to venture into the world of entrepreneurship,” SME Corp said.
To ensure more detailed information on SME development programmes can be disseminated to the entrepreneurs, SME Corp intends to produce the second season of this drama.
The second season of this drama will be focusing on incentives and assistance provided by the government for entrepreneurs to expand their business until they penetrate the global market.
To date, MAMPU, TERAJU, TEKUN, CGC, SME Bank, MATRADE and Telekom Malaysia have confirmed their involvement in the second season of this drama.
