Other office bearers are Adeline Liew ( secretary), Valerie Chan (assistant secretary), Geraldine Liew (treasurer), Fu Siaw Wah (assistant treasurer), and Joanna Yap ( publicity officer).
The committee members are Euphrasia Lee, Sheryl Lee, Yvonne Saman and Norzan Bujang, while co- opted committee members are Irene Brodie, Annabella Bibi Kepa and Melinda Hiing.
Appointed representatives for SMK St Teresa and SK St Teresa are Chong Siaw Ning and Masayu Mohamed respectively. Maria Lee was reelected as auditor.
In her speech, the president updated members present on the progress of activities which had been held and were being planned to raise funds for the rebuilding of the school hall which was razed in a fire on Oct 29 last year. The school plans to replace the school hall block with a multi-purpose four- storey building which will house classrooms, a staff room and other facilities.
The new building is estimated to cost a total of RM8.2 million. As of June this year, the school has raised RM2.712 million, with a pledge of RM300,000 yet to be collected.
The OTA has so far helped to collect RM209,915 for the project. Among the activities held were a fundraising drive through Facebook which is ongoing, a charity run, and sales of souvenir items.
Masnoon also acknowledged the tremendous support from elected representatives, various government bodies, private corporations, members of the public, and Teresian alumni here and overseas, as well as the efforts of current St Teresa students towards the fundraising activities. She urged those present to continue in their efforts to help the school and its students in this time of need.
“We have seen and felt the overwhelming support of Teresians, near and far, after the tragedy (fire). So let’s keep up our work to rally Teresians so we can achieve our rebuilding targets and provide the best we can for future Teresians,” she said.
