KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents ( Matta) is pleased to have Sarawak as the ‘ Malaysia’s Favourite Destination’ for the 44th Matta Fair, to take place at Putra World Trade Centre ( PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur from Sept 8 to 10 this year.

With 11 booths taken up by Sarawak Tourism Board ( STB), more than 100 travel packages will be available for visitors, ranging from culinary to self- drive holidays, rainforest kayaking and adventure caving.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to buy a variety of value-for-money domestic and international packages from over 150 licensed travel agents and Matta members.

“Discover hidden gems and attractions that Sarawak has to offer such as the Gunung Mulu National Park, Semenggoh Nature Reserve, Batang Rejang and its Tribe Longhouses during the Matta Fair,” said a spokesperson for Matta.

The Sarawak Pavilion will feature lucky draws and social media contests with 10 lucky winners to be announced daily. These contests offer many attractive prizes such as overnight stays in hotels and resorts in Sarawak.

“Matta believes that such collaboration and support will bring success to the fair and will continue to contribute the growth of domestic and inbound tourism in our country.

“Through the fair, Matta continues to provide business opportunities for its members and meet the demand of the consumers,” said the spokesperson.

Matta Fair 2017 opens daily from 10am to 9pm throughout the event period, and is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors.
