Cenang Resort, Wanda and Sino to undertake RM1.5 billion project in Langkawi

LANGKAWI: Property developer, Cenang Resort Sdn Bhd, has forged strategic partnershi­ps with Wanda Hotels and Resorts and Sino Great Wall Co Ltd to undertake a mixed developmen­t project, the Wanda Realm Resort Langkawi, with a total gross developmen­t value of RM1.55 billion.

Cenang Resort chairman, Datuk Wira Abdullah Hasnan Kama rudd in, said the developmen­t, to be completed by end-2023, would be located on 2.14 hectares of prime freehold land fronting the Andaman Sea, and was earmarked to be an iconic addition to the Langkawi skyline.

“We believe that this developmen­t meets the needs for high- end, seafront resort-living lifestyle, one that is tailored to further boost the growth of the local tourism and services industry.

“We hope this project will meet the demand and requiremen­ts of luxury tourism, and also raise the standard of facilities and services offered,” he said at the ceremony to announce the partnershi­p yesterday.

Also present was Kedah Mentri Besar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah.

Under the partnershi­p, both Cenang Resort and Wanda Hotels and Resorts would be spearheadi­ng the resort management for the mixed developmen­t project, comprising a hotel, two 40-storey residentia­l towers and commercial components, while Sino Great Wall acts as the contractor for the project.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Bashah said, the project was expected to provide growth opportunit­ies for the island’s tourism and property industry.
