KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC) has entered into strategic partnerships with 14 government-linked companies (GLCs) and private sector players to support entrepreneurship development in Malaysia and drive national innovation.

The new partners will join as members of the MaGIC CER Circle under the MaGIC Corporate Entrepreneurship Responsibility (CER) platform as the major thrust to develop Malaysia’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

MaGIC chief executive officer, Ashran Ghazi, said corporates could rapidly innovate, disrupt existing business models, bring more agility to operations and drive bottom line growth by engaging with entrepreneurs who are on the cutting edge of new skills.

“This is why we are pushing the private sector to be actively involved in our thriving local entrepreneurship community and unlock a wealth of economic possibilities by collaborating with startups that are previously difficult to access,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The GLCs and private sector players include Standard Chartered Bank, Petronas, Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd, Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd, MIMOS Bhd, Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd, UEM Group, Maybank and Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science and Technology (CREST). — Bernama
