-

KUCHING: All are welcome to the 3rd Kuching Zumba Fiesta 2017 event on Friday, 7.30pm at the Hockey Stadium.

The free event is among those lined up in conjunction with the Kuching Festival.

It is part of the Youth, Culture and Sports programme held by Kuching South City Council ( MBKS) to promote a better and healthier lifestyle in the community and in line with the Healthy City programme advocated by the council, said Mayor Datuk James Chan.

He said that the event is jointly organised with local gyms and Zumba studios like Level Up Fitness, Shake It! Studio, StepUp Fitness Studio, Fit’starzs Dance Crew, Angelsfit Squad, Viva La Vida Fitness Studio, Exhilarate Fitness Studio, Queen Fitness Club and Move Fitness Club.

“Anyone can join the event, including those who have never done Zumba before. Just come and give it a try,” he said at a press conference yesterday.

Aside from that, there are also 68 lucky draw prizes up for grabs for participants with two grand prizes from Level Up — a one-year Premium membership and a oneyear Express membership.

Additionally, Hong Kong artiste Dick Chan will be there to perform two songs for the crowd.

The mayor added that so far 3,810 people have registered and registration is still open, including for walk-ins on the day itself.

“This event is not to be missed as other Zumba events are private events and require a paid ticket to join. This event is free.”

Kuching Festival organising chairman Cr Mohd Taufik Abdul Ghani was also present.
