Sebangga Auto team visits SCCS centre to present donations

-

KUCHING: Sebangga Auto, the main dealer for Subaru in Sarawak, brought goodwill and cheer to Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society ( SCCS) here yesterday.

Its chairman Datuk Arif Ambrose Ng led the Sebangga Auto team on the special visit where they handed over donations including essential items to SCCS.

“I first heard about SCCS from my employees. It reflects the thing that matters most to us — family. We want to be part of SCCS to help these children and their families and create awareness among the public on helping SCCS,” Arif pointed out.

Arif and hiswife Datin Aien also took the opportunity to spend some quality time with a one-year- old child who is the youngest patient at the centre.

SCCS is a non-profit voluntary organisation formed in 1999 by a group of parents of children with cancer.

The society is established for the relief and care of Malaysian children suffering from cancer and their families, giving them financial and emotional support.

SCCS needs support in its daily operations especially concerning the needs of children at the centre such as milk, food, and even diapers.

Sebangga Auto hoped its contribution would help ease the cost of running the centre.

Its ongoing charitable activities, according to a publicity release, were carried out in line with its corporate social responsibility ( CSR) commitment for the betterment of society.

Sebangga Auto hopes that the initiative will encourage more people to contribute to their community through acts of kindness.

Sebangga Auto, one of the fastest growing automotive companies in East Malaysia, opened its fifth branch in Kuching after Kota Kinabalu, Labuan, Sandakan and Tawau in Sabah within two years.

It is the sole dealer for Subaru in Sabah and Labuan, starting with its first showroom in Labuan.

It has grown rapidly since and currently, has two massive showrooms in Sabah, located at Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan, and a service centre in Tawau.

Sebangga Auto offers sales to after-sales-service to spare parts, to support all current and future customers.

After the successful launching of Wisma Sebangga in Likas, the main hub and headquarters of Subaru in Sabah last Feb 16, it spread its wings to Sarawak.

Sebangga Auto operates its first 4S centre in Pending here, providing sales, after- salesservice, spare parts and spray painting, since August this year.

Subaru is the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries, the 22nd biggest automaker by production worldwide in 2012.

The growth of Subaru in Malaysia is attributed to the great support from customers towards its SUV model Subaru XV which it started to assemble here in Malaysia five years ago.

Following the success of this popular model, Subaru launched the second locally assembled model in April last year with the renowned and larger Forester SUV.

Malaysians will be pleased to note that all the cars that roll out from their local factory meet the exact high quality standards and same design requirements set by the manufacturer in Japan; and for that, Subaru cars here have won numerous product awards, including SUV of the Year.

In addition, Sebangga Auto also operates the Chevrolet 3S Centre and Mitsubishi 4S Centre in Kota Kinabalu.
