The purpose of this competition is to improve the language skills of pupils through listening, speaking, reading and writing in both Malay and English.
It also gives pupils confidence, especially to speak in front of an audience, and encourages them to be interested in reading while cultivating in them a patriotic spirit and love for the country.
The event will see the handover of books to the schools involved, while a Reading Corner will be set up under the Bookshare Project by Persatuan Pustakawan Malaysia Kumpulan Sarawak ( PPMKSR).
