PBB can count on Armada Pemuda to gain voters’ support — Fazzrudin
KUCHING: The youth section of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) is ever ready to assist should the party’s leadership decide on fielding a youth member as part of its line-up of candidates for the next parliamentary election.
Nevertheless, Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said PBB Youth would adhere to the tradition of leaving such decision to the top leadership in PBB.
“What’s important is that we, the PBB Youth, have kick-started our machinery – the Armada Pemuda PBB’ – on the first day after the last ( parliamentary) election,” said Fazzrudin, who is also PBB Youth information chief.
The Armada Pemuda, he said, had been approaching and going to the ground with the people through various activities such as sports and welfare programmes.
“Through this (approach), the people would feel closely connected with the party,” he spoke at the ‘korban’ (ritual sacrifice) ceremony at Masjid At-Taqwa in Kampung Pinang Jawa here yesterday.
Adding on, Fazzrudin said PBB Youth is all geared up for the parliamentary election, which many believe is impending.
“We will focus more on our community programmes, especially in approaching the voters. The important thing is to let the people know what PBB has done for them.”
On another issue, Fazzrudin advised DAP’s Abdul Aziz Isa to ‘ practise good manners in his oliticking’.
Abdul Aziz is the special assistant to Bandar Kuching MP Chong Chieng Jen, who is DAP Sarawak chairman. Abdul Aziz is also the coordinator of the DAP Tupong service centre.
“His (Abdul Aziz’s) actions, especially him criticising our state leaders on issues related to Petros and the appointment of its board of directors, show the true colours of DAP. This is not how we in PBB work,” stressed Fazzrudin, pointing out that PBB would never dwell much on such issues.
“The PBB has bigger things to look into, such as the welfare of the people,” he added.
