Dinner to reunite former students of Lugoss
MIRI: Former teachers, principals and students of Lutong Government Secondary School ( Lugoss) are invited to attend its reunion dinner at Mega Hotel Miri this Oct 28.
The school is now known as SMK Lutong.
SMK Lutong Alumni president Misiah Abdullah said the dinner aims to reunite former Lugoss students with their teachers and principals from all over the globe.
“This year we are selling 60 tables to cater to all former students from Lugoss within Malaysia and abroad as an avenue to meet old friends and schoolmates,” Misiah Abdullah told The Borneo Post yesterday.
The committee will strive to contact as many former students of Lugoss as possible and invite them to the event with their spouses and family members.
They hope to draw more former students, especially those studying in the 60s, 70s, 80s and the 90s.
The dinner will host various presentations and performances including lucky draws. This year’s theme is ‘Hawaiian Nite’ so guests and others are expected to turn up in clothes that identify with the Hawaiian theme.
“It will be a trip down memory lane for former students to catch up with their classmates, schoolmates, teachers and principals,” she said.
Misiah said the majority of former Lugoss students are living in Sarawak Shell Berhad Lutong quarters, Kampung Cina, Kampung Pengkalan, Lutong, Kampung Merikan, Kampung Batu Satu, Pujut 9 and Kuala Baram.
Many of them are scattered all over Malaysia, Singapore, Sabah, Brunei and abroad including the US and Australia.
