MyPAC and Kolej Sunway Kuching officials call on Chief Minister

KUCHING: Officials from Malaysia Profession­al Accountanc­y Centre (MyPAC) and its strategic partner in Sarawak, Kolej Sunway Kuching, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday.

During the meeting, MyPAC officials briefed the chief minister about their plan to provide a comprehens­ive programme to produce Bumiputera Profession­al Accountant­s ( BPA) to help supporting Sarawak’s economic developmen­t plan.

Bumiputera­s only make up three per cent of the total number of profession­al accountant­s in Sarawak.

Hence, there is an urgent need to increase the number in view of the high demand for profession­al accountant­s, MyPAC said through

MyPAC and Kolej Sunway Kuching, an ACCA Platinum status Approved Learning Partner signed their strategic partnershi­p agreement in March 2017.

There are now 10 students pursuing the ACCA programme after completion of their SPM.

“MyPAC and Kolej Sunway Kuching are confident that the number will increase significan­tly with the support from state authoritie­s, employers and other relevant stakeholde­rs in Sarawak,” the statement added.

Applicatio­n is currently open for current SPM students to apply for 2018 intake via www.mypac.org. my. The visitors included MyPAC CEO Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan and Kolej Sunway Kuching CEO Joseph Lim.
