At KPMG Malaysia, the students were briefed on the range of services provided by one of the world’s ‘ Big Four’ accounting firms.
At GE Malaysia, the group met with Curtin Malaysia alumnus Shaun Chien, now an application engineer, who emphasised the importance of both academic and extracurricular achievement in one’s future career.
At the headquarters of accounting and advisory firm Baker Tilly, students were given a presentation on the company, its services, as well as job opportunities for graduates by human resources manager Danny Yeoh.
They also toured the company’s offices and met with other staff.
At Noesis Exed, an educational institution for professional programmes, students were briefed on various professional accountancy courses and the benefits of each qualification.
Students found the visits provided valuable insights into career and internship opportunities, graduate programmes and employers’ expectations of graduates, as well as tertiary and professional qualifications and other requirements needed to enter or advance in the various industries.
