University College of Technology Sarawak offers new degree, post-grad programmes
SIBU: University College of Technology Sarawak’s ( UCTS) School of Business and Management has introduced a new Bachelor of Business ( Hons) in Marketing programme.
UCTS vice- chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Abdul Hakim Juri said students will be introduced to the latest marketing concepts, theories, knowledge and practical skills within the field.
“Marketing is a core business function which is able to shape and execute business strategy and drive overall success. It is a field where people can show themselves, practise and test their creativity, improve communication and relationship skills and come up with many new and great ideas to inspire others,” he said.
Hakim added that the course would instil upon students the true meaning of marketing while exposing them to the fact that it is actually a diverse field.
“As marketing major graduates, they can take up various lines of work and fields whether those related to management, information systems, analysing data and information, or connected to activities that require practical skills such as selling and promoting services and products to people.
“Also, considering that most organisations have a marketing function, students will find that career opportunities in marketing are seemingly endless,” he said.
