KUCHING: Forty-six participants representing state government departments and agencies attended a forum on records and archives management at the auditorium of Pustaka Miri recently.

The first forum was held on May 9 at Pustaka Negeri here, followed by another in Sibu on July 18.

The Miri session was the third this year.

“The forum aims to explain and discuss the management of records and archives in terms of direction, guidance and management aspects, which must be followed by all Sarawak civil servants.

“In addition, the purpose of this forum is also to identify records that have archival value to be transferred to Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, and to learn the management methods of classified records,” said a spokesperson of Pustaka Negeri.

The facilitators for the Miri forum were head of records Vincent Jinap and head of archives Dayangku Horiah Awang Gani from Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Management Division, as well as Chief Government Security Office Sarawak assistant director Mohd Shofian Jamain.
