NGO delivers aid to disabled 7-year-old

-

KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching came to the aid of seven-year- old Miqhail Nawfiel Mohd Nasu and his family with a delivery of their standard care package and a few extra items to address the boy’s specific needs.

According to Hope Place Kuching founder Kelvin Wan, Miqhail is a special needs boy who can neither walk nor talk.

“We need the public to help in providing XL- size diapers and milk powder,” he said.

Miqhail’s mother Madinah Ain has her hands full as a single mother of three children.

She sells ‘keropok’ in front of her house so she can earn some money and keep an eye on the boy as well. Her two other children are aged nine and two.

The only stable income the family has is the monthly allowance of RM150 from the Welfare Department.

Hope Place Kuching is a nongovernmental organisation ( NGO) that visits poor and less fortunate families to contribute some essential food items.

To date, it has supported more than 170 families.

The NGO can be reached on 013- 5672775 and 082- 683378 from 8.30am to 12 noon, and from 2pm to 5pm, every Monday to Friday, as well as every Saturday from 9am to noon.
