MIRI: Tzu Chi Taiwan Buddhist Foundation Miri Branch ( Tzu Chi Miri) organised its fourth free health screening event at Boulevard Shopping Mall on Saturday.

The one- day event was part of Tzu Chi Miri’s year- long programme to reach out to members of the public and to create more personal health awareness among them.

According to its publicity officer Dennis Yee, the two-hour event saw the participation of 56 individuals aged between 23 to 77-years- old.

“As usual, we conducted blood pressure and blood sugar tests using the tools and facility sponsored by Gnosis Lab. We greatly appreciate their support as well as are thankful to the five western and traditional medical practitioners who volunteered for our event.”

Among the 31 volunteers, there were two Tzu Chi chiropractors helping the elderly to check and help ease their body pain, Yee added.

“Of course, we are very thankful to Boulevard Shopping Mall who sponsored the use of their event hall for the charity do,” he said in a press statement yesterday.
