Family of six gets help to return to Sibu

-

KUCHING: Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan has helped raised money to assist a couple and their four children to go back to Sibu.

According to him, the money came from donations by kind members of the public, raising RM1,100 for the couple.

Wan also remarked that he felt that he needed to help the family as they had no money at all and were living at the shelter for the homeless known as Anjung Singgah here.

The mother of the children needed to go back to Sibu urgently as her mother had passed away and the family had no one to turn to for help.

“They were vey unfortunate. Not only did the mother of the children need to go back to Sibu urgently, her handbag got snatched recently causing, all of the family members to lose all their identification documents and what little money they had left,” added Wan.

He also revealed that the couple had come to Kuching recently to look for employment and decided to bring their children along.

Their children do not go to school and the Anjung Singgah officials are currently assisting the family in helping them with their identification documents.

Wan also mentioned that the family were able to return to Sibu after receiving the donation.
