SHAH ALAM: The National team’s participat­ion in the Busan Internatio­nal Beach Soccer tourney held at the Songdo beach in Busan, South Korea from Sept 16, will be the best platform to gauge the performanc­e of the team and players

National beach soccer assistant coach Mohd Saiful Md Noor said the opportunit­y to play in the twoday tournament will offer valuable experience and exposure to the players

“The tournament will also serve as the best platform for me and head coach Ismail Zakaria to assess the 10 players who will be retained for another internatio­nal competitio­n in November

We are still waiting for the date and number of teams participat­ing in the tournament,” said Mohd Saiful when met by reporters at the UiTM beach soccer ground, here yesterday

Mohd Saiful said the 12 players who represente­d the country in the AFC Beach Soccer tournament in Kuala Terengganu last March had been retained while another three three were called up for National duty, namely Mohd Hasrol Ali ( Terengganu), Muhammad Aminullah Abd Razab ( Pahang) and Mohd Jamil Daud (Kelantan)

The 15-member squad will leave to Busan on Friday.

The squad: Mohd Naz r i Sulaiman, Khai rul Az i z i Norwawi, Mohd Zaharim Mohd Yusof f, Mohd Riduwan Mohd Nor, Mohammad Fakhrullah dan Mohammad Fakhruddin Mohamad, Muhammad Qushairi Assari, Mohd Khairul Nizam Mohamad, Mohd Rozairi Ahmad, Mohd Hasrol Ali ( Terengganu), Ajasni Parman, Mohd Ridhwan Zainal ( Kuala Lumpur), Mohd Shafiq Riza Huzair, Muhamad Aminullah Abd Razab ( Pahang), Mohd Jamil Daud ( Kelantan). — Bernama
