APM transports UPSR supervisors, teachers to school

SIBU: Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel here were summoned to help transport 12 teachers and Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah ( UPSR) examination supervisors to SK Tanjung Latap, near here yesterday.

APM Sibu chief Frankie Jawan said an APM truck was used to send the teachers and supervisors as the road leading to the school was flooded and inaccessible to small vehicles.

He said a heavy downpour had caused the nearby river to overflow and flood the road to the school.

“As of 8.30am yesterday, the road was under about a foot of water and was not accessible by small cars. Classes, however, were not affected,” he said when contacted.
