Great Eastern to hold blood drive on Sept 16

MIRI: Great Eastern Field Force and Agents Association, Malaysia will organise a blood donation drive on Sept 16, at Bintang Megamall Miri from 10am to 1pm.

According to event organising chairman Kiu Chiong Kwong, the blood donation drive is to respond to and meet the need of Miri Blood Bank to replenish blood stock.

“On a yearly basis, there is high demand for an estimated 8,000 pints of new blood stock comprising different blood types to restock the blood bank. There are many circumstances or emergency cases that require certain blood types. Therefore, we are doing our part to help the community,” Kiu said.

He added that they are targeting about 100 people for the blood drive.

“After each successful donation, each donor will receive a fivekg packet of rice as a token of appreciation,” he said.
