MIEA to hold negotiators certification course on Oct 7-8

-

KUCHING: The Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents ( MIEA) Sarawak branch will organise a negotiators certification course ( NCC) here on Oct 7 and 8.

This NCC is endorsed by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents ( BOVAEA) and it will enable those who are aspiring to work in the real estate industry to improve their credentials, said a media statement yesterday.

“It is compulsory for them to obtain this certificate which is recognised by BOVAEA. Holders of the NCC certificates must then be employed by Registered Estate Agencies which is a prerequisite before BOVAEA can issue them with the Real Estate Negotiator ( REN) identification tags,” added the statement.

The course aimed at stopping misrepresentation by unauthorised illegal brokers and prevent the general public from being cheated by them.

The penalty for illegal brokers marketing real estate as ‘free-lance agents’ or property companies without registration with BOVAEA is a fine of up to RM300,000 or three years’ jail or both.

Registration for the NCC can be done either online via MIEA website www.miea.com. my or at MIEA Sarawak branch secretariat located at No. 18- S, Lot 2995, First Floor, Wisma Keretapi (adjacent to Shell petrol station), Lorong 14, Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce.

Enquires can be made by calling 082-234811 or 016- 905 6822.
