Committee members told to contribute to sepak takraw devt

KUCHING: The president of the Kuching Division Sepak Takraw Associatio­n Dato Sri Abang Khalid Tan Sri Abang Marzuki has urged the new committee members of the associatio­n to pool their resources and contribute ideas to raise the standard of the sport in the division and state.

Kha l id, who a l so heads the Sarawak Sepak Takraw Associatio­n ( PSS), stressed that the exco members should also be ready to receive constructi­ve criticisms to ensure that sepak takraw will continue to advance in the state.

“I hope the new exco members will help us to further develop the sport in Kuching and especially in Sarawak.

“A such, I urge all the new exco members to cooperate with me to think of ways to bring sepak takraw to a higher level,” he said.

Khal id returned as the Kuching Division Sepak Takraw Associatio­n president for the 20172019 term during a recent annual general meeting.

His deputy is Datuk Abang Ismail Abang Saufi while the secretary is Hasweera Hassan, with Ahmad Osman as the assistant secretary.

Jafr y Idri s retained the treasurer’s post and his assistant is Ibrahim Saufi while Radin Azhar is in charge of publicity and there are 10 committee members.

Meanwhile, Khalid revealed that the associatio­n would be organising the President’s Cup in November this year.

Prior to that, PSS will hold the Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah Cup here next month.
