ECER SMEs secure export deals worth RM7.4 million at CAEXPO

NANNING (CHINA): Three small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from Malaysia’s East Coast Economic Region (ECER) secured export deals worth RM7.4 million at the 14th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) 2017.

The SMEs, Hakimah Bakery, Siti Nora Enterprise and Adeqsue Resources Sdn Bhd, exchanged memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with their trade partners in China to distribute halal food products in the country over the next two years.

ECER Development Council Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Jebasingam Issace John said the MoU exchange was a testament to the entrepreneurs’ success in growing their business by adapting and responding to global market needs.

“In fact there are many crossborder opportunities just waiting to be seized.

“We are confident of more deals and partnerships leveraging on halal and handicraft products by the end of this exhibition,” he added.

He told reporters this after the exchange of MoUs between the three SMEs and their trade partners at the CAEXPO 2017 yesterday.

Under the MoU, Hakimah Bakery would be supplying “bangkit durian”, worth RM 3.7 million via the Kuantan-Qinzhou Chamber of Commerce to the China market.

Adeqsue Resources Sdn Bhd had sealed a RM2.25 million contract with Guangxi Wan Chen Feng Industrial Co Ltd to distribute Malaysian cuisine pastes and sauces such as grilled fish paste and sambal ikan bilis.

Meanwhile, Siti Nora Enterprise sealed an export deal worth RM1.45 million with KuantanQinzhou Chamber of Commerce to supply various types of muruku (a savoury, crunchy snack) to China. — Bernama
