Digital TV decoders selling at promotional price until yearend
KUCHING: Due to the overwhelming response to its digital TV decoders, MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd is extending the promotional price of RM199 (original retail price RM317) to Dec 31 this year. The promotion was supposed to end today. MYTV CEO Michael Chan said: “We have received overwhelming response since the myFreeview digital TV service was launched by Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak in June,”
“When the retail price was brought down to RM199 right after the launch, we saw an even more positive take up rate. We have widened our retail network to over 220 outlets at the moment.
“MYTV is extending the promotional period to Dec 31 to enable more Malaysians to own the decoders at a very affordable price and enjoy digitally clear and crisp audio and video on myFreeview, as the whole country is migrating towards a fully digitalised broadcasting system by 2018,” Chan said.
“The best thing is the decoder is a one- off investment as the service comes with no monthly commitment and customers need not worry about subscription fees. All you need is a working UHF antenna,” he added.
MYTV decoders are compatible for use with both old and new TV sets including CRT televisions.
Users need only connect the decoder to the TV set and a working UHF antenna.
Both indoor and outdoor antenna types can be used, although the outdoor UHF antenna is recommended.
