Take punctualit­y seriously, reminds ex-Sibu police chief

SIBU: Former Sibu police chief ACP Sai ful Bahri Abdul lah stresses punctualit­y as a key virtue in every member of the force.

He believes that it is a very bad habit to let others wait.

“Always follow strict discipline to attain good results,” he spoke at the farewell dinner-cum-birthday party held in his honour here on Monday.

Adding on, Saiful said he had been practising strict punctualit­y and discipline throughout his career in the force.

“I would usually arrive at office at 7.45am and leave after 5pm. After that, I would go to the mosque for Maghrib prayer at 6.30pm. In the evening, I would go through the

Saiful also told the guests that everything that he did was for the benefit of his subordinat­es and the police force.

“I wanted to see the good teamwork that we had to be enhanced in making Sibu police a better police force. It’s through such great teamwork that the crime rate here had been among of the lowest in the state.”

Sai ful a lso extended his appreciati­on to the media fraternity for its immense support, adding: “I am especially grateful to the Chinese press for highlighti­ng crime news – at times, even allocating one full page for these news.”

He acknowledg­ed the vital role of the media in disseminat­ing informatio­n to the public and acting as a bridge between the police and the people.

“Such cooperatio­n needs to be enhanced further for the betterment of the community,” he pointed out.

ACP Zailanni Amit took over from Saiful on Monday.

Zailanni, 43, is formerly Bintulu police chief and hails from Kuching.
