Seven to carry SK Sri Mawar flag at state, national meet
MIRI: Seven pupils of SK Sri Mawar here who have achieved excellence in tennis, golf, badminton, swimming, performing arts and singing will be representing the school at both state and national level this year.
They are Angel Chin Onn Qi who emerged champion at MSSR badminton and 3rd MSS badminton tournaments , Mirabel Ting Ern Hui (champion of MSSR and MSS golf, 2nd MSSM golf, champion in 24th Bintulu Amateur Open golf Championship 2017, champion in 19th Ladies Labuan Amateur Open Golf championship 2017 and champion in Sibu Amatear Open 2017), Ivan Oh Wei Yue (champion MSSR tennis and 2nd MSSM tennis), Radion Tan Xue Long (Tennis), Magdalene Lau Ing Siew (swimming champion ), Sarah Hii Xiu Qi (champion in International singing competition at Shang Hai for age group 7- 9 years, champion Malaysian singing competition for children in Sabah) and Christie Low Xin Ai who won several art competitions organised by the public and private sectors in Miri.

was also attended by the school head Roslawati Ahmad and senior assistant ( Co- Curricular) Wong Kheng Loong.
According to Ngui, the school also received excellence award in co- curricular activities and sports for the fourth consecutive year, from Ministry of Education.
Meanwhile, Elaine Liew, the mother of Magdalene, has to take her daughter for two hour training, six times a week.
She said Magdalene started learning to swim when she was the three years old and has won many medals at Brunei and Sarawak age group competitions.
Sarah Hii, who emerged champion in the recent Shang Hai singing competition, said her previous achievements included being champion in the Kuala Lumpur, Miri andLimbangsinging competitions and also champion in the 9-year- old category.
“I will do my very best in the next competition for the school,” she added,
