Rep assures rural communities of fair share of development
JULAU: Helping the constituents to improve their socio-economic status is top on his agenda as an elected representative, Meluan assemblyman Rolland Duat assured.
In that respect he saw urgent need to have all the basic infrastructure facilities, utilities and amenities in place, he said during a ‘leader with the community’ gathering at Rumah Seman Panting in Lasi near here last Friday.
He assured the constituents that he would fight for their fair share of any development fund made available by the government.
“I will make request for a share from the RM1 billion fund set aside by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for repairing and upgrading of schools in rural areas, fund for provision of water and electricity supplies, construction of roads, provision of efficient communication system, etc. from the relevant authorities,” he said.
Singling out one latest good news on development project for Meluan, Rolland disclosed that an allocation of RM45,000 has been approved by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development for the construction of high –level tank to distribute treated water to Entabai area in particular and other nearby areas.
He reiterated that he would not be satisfied until all households in his constituency have enjoyed the convenience of good road network, proper schools, quality healthcare service, efficient water and electricity supply, efficient communication system which he believed was crucial for uplifting their socio-economic status.
During the function Rolland presented RM40,000 cheque for purchasing a piece of land for the new Lasi burial ground and for construction of road to the site and assured the people in the area that they would receive their share of his MRP and RTP funds next year.
