100 attend entreprene­ur transforma­tion programme to enhance business know-how

MIRI: Some 100 entreprene­urs attended an entreprene­ur transforma­tion programme organised by the Miri branch of Sarawak Bumiputera Women Entreprene­urs Chamber ( Dewanita) at Meritz Hotel here on Saturday.

The event featured Dewanita chairperso­n Juita Drap, Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit ( Teraju) Sarawak senior executive Khairina Dawek and Majlis Amanah Rakyat ( Mara) officer Nurulhuda Aini as speakers for talks on various topics including entreprene­ur developmen­t opportunit­ies, support, marketing, advertisin­g and financing opportunit­ies.

Khairina gave a talk on the Bumiputera Entreprene­urs Startup Scheme ( Superb) which aims entreprene­urs assistance.

It is an initiative of Teraju – which has been allocated a RM100 million grant funding to finance Bumiputera entreprene­urs and startup companies to commercial­ise their products and take their business to the next level.

Khairina said the scheme also aims to uncover talents among the younger generation through business pitching.

Thus, she encouraged the younger generation to grab the opportunit­ies provided by Teraju, as well as the National Institute of Entreprene­urship which offers essential business coaching benefits.

Nurulhuda, meanwhile, talked at empowering via financial on the various aids provided by Mara including ‘ Skim Jaminan Usahawan Mara’, ‘ Skim Pembiayaan Kontrak Ekspres’ and ‘Skim Pembiayaan Perniagaan DanaNITA’ among others.

Juita touched on the importance of a positive mindset.

According to her, entreprene­urs need both self and business transforma­tions for growth, and every entreprene­ur also needs a role model to motivate them to move forward in striving for success.

The event was organised to help participan­ts gain skills and enhance their knowledge on building a business that is sustainabl­e and highly competitiv­e in today’s business world.
