100 attend entrepreneur transformation programme to enhance business know-how
MIRI: Some 100 entrepreneurs attended an entrepreneur transformation programme organised by the Miri branch of Sarawak Bumiputera Women Entrepreneurs Chamber ( Dewanita) at Meritz Hotel here on Saturday.
The event featured Dewanita chairperson Juita Drap, Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit ( Teraju) Sarawak senior executive Khairina Dawek and Majlis Amanah Rakyat ( Mara) officer Nurulhuda Aini as speakers for talks on various topics including entrepreneur development opportunities, support, marketing, advertising and financing opportunities.
Khairina gave a talk on the Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Startup Scheme ( Superb) which aims entrepreneurs assistance.
It is an initiative of Teraju – which has been allocated a RM100 million grant funding to finance Bumiputera entrepreneurs and startup companies to commercialise their products and take their business to the next level.
Khairina said the scheme also aims to uncover talents among the younger generation through business pitching.
Thus, she encouraged the younger generation to grab the opportunities provided by Teraju, as well as the National Institute of Entrepreneurship which offers essential business coaching benefits.
Nurulhuda, meanwhile, talked at empowering via financial on the various aids provided by Mara including ‘ Skim Jaminan Usahawan Mara’, ‘ Skim Pembiayaan Kontrak Ekspres’ and ‘Skim Pembiayaan Perniagaan DanaNITA’ among others.
Juita touched on the importance of a positive mindset.
According to her, entrepreneurs need both self and business transformations for growth, and every entrepreneur also needs a role model to motivate them to move forward in striving for success.
The event was organised to help participants gain skills and enhance their knowledge on building a business that is sustainable and highly competitive in today’s business world.
