MARUDI: Baram MP Anyi Ngau is appealing to the concerned authority to add another two channelling points at the solarhybrid power station, which caters to two longhouses in the Upper Baram.

According to him, the present two points lack the sufficiency in supplying electricity to Rumah Long Bemang in Apoh and Rumah Long Silat in Apoh Baram.

“This is my proposal, which I hope would be reviewed and studied thoroughly,” he spoke at the start of a work party programme

at Long Bemang recently, where he was joined by Telang usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.

Adding on, Anyi also reminded the longhouse folk to always place safety and precaution first when it comes to electricity.

“There are some of us who are very careless and cannot be bothered with all the little things when it comes to using electricity.

This must not be the case – safety must come first.

“We do not want to hear more about fires that strike longhouses due to carelessness,” he stressed.

Later, Anyi announced the approval of a RM10,000 allocation to the Long Bemang village security and development committee to buy ‘ Kayu Anyi’ saplings along with fertilisers.

It is learnt that the ‘Kayu Anyi’ trees could be fashioned into ‘bonsai’ ornamental plants.
