PH unveils election manifesto for GE14

KUCHING: Pakatan Harapan ( PH) has unveiled its election manifesto for the 14th General Election which it described as ‘the new deal’ for Sarawak.

PH Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen, who read out the manifesto during PH’s ‘ New Deal, New Hope’ rally at BDC here on Sunday, declared PH’s commitment and promise to guarantee the five thrusts for Sarawak and Sarawakian­s.

The first thrust of the new deal is the right to territoria­l government, while the second thrust is the right to petroleum and revenue justice.

The third thrust is the right to equitable basic infrastruc­ture and land developmen­t, and the fourth thrust is the right to quality education.

In the new deal, PH also promised Sarawakian­s their right to equitable economic developmen­t and the empowermen­t of youth, women and minorities.

“The five thrusts, we guarantee through structural reform and good governance frame within the context of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and the Federal Constituti­on.”

As this was just the outline of PH manifesto for Sarawak, Chong assured the people that they would disclose the specific measures in due course.

100 days, one year and one term after the next Parliament­ary election.”

Among those present were PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, DAP Parliament­ary leader Lim Kit Siang, Amanah election director Dr Hatta Ramli, state PKR chairman Baru Bian and state Amanah chairman Mohd Fidzuan Zaidi.
