Photo Borneo holds its second photography exhibition ‘Exploration’ at Saradise Gallery
KUCHING: Photo Borneo is holding its second photography exhibition – ‘ Exploration’ – at Saradise Gallery from Sept 23 to Oct 14.
Ten young passionate photographers from amateurs to professionals, are participating in this month-long exhibition – Alexa Sheryl, Ezam Ariff, Jee Foong, Kelvin Chan, Kim Aretuukusu, Lance Vun, Reuben Teo, Robin Wong, Shen Yeo and Zen Hashim.
This dynamic team aims to share the lessons learnt, obstacles and their motivation while honing their skill in photography.
According to the organising chairman Lance Vun, photography is as a technical art. One must master the technicalities of the camera in order to create art.
“Our aim is to provide a platform for local young talents to exhibit their artwork in order to motivate and encourage their growth as photographers. Participating in exhibitions encourage photographers to sharpen their craft and push for greater heights,” Vun said.
This is in-line with the aim of the main sponsor, Saberkas Kota Sentosa to empower local youths. The other sponsors are Sarawak Artists society, Great Wall Photography and Golden Wall Printing.
Following the launch on Saturday, there were two inspiring sharing sessions by Kelvin Chan, a Gold Award winner for the Prix de la Photographie Paris PX3 2017 Competition, and Jee Foong, a well-known young and talented Kuching photographer.
The Photo Borneo team will be having another sharing session on Sept 30 at 2pm, featuring Vun, a professional and versatile photographer, together with Robin Wong, a M4/3 expert and professional street photographer. Photography enthusiasts will be invited for a PhotoWalk with members of Photo Borneo as they go around the city taking snapshots after this sharing session.
Saradise Gallery is located at Level 1 Titanium Tower, Jalan Song. The exhibition runs from Sept 23 to Oct 14, Mondays to Fridays from 9.30am to 5.30pm. Admission is free.
