S’wak Bahai community to hold Sunday blood donation drive throughout October

KUCHING: The Sarawak Bahai community will run blood donation drives across the state every Sunday throughout next month, in celebratio­n of the 200th anniversar­y of the birth of Bahá’u’lláh – the founder of the faith.

The Sarawak Bahai community will be joining over six million Bahais in some 100,000 localities worldwide for this celebratio­n on Oct 22.

The statewide blood donation drive programme, which will lead up to the grand celebratio­n, aims to collect at least 200 pints.

“All friends from diverse background­s – men and women, young and old – are welcomed to participat­e in this charitable act as service to society.

“Let us make this blood donation drive a success – one measured not only in terms of the quantity of pints collected, but also one that reflects the collective spirit of service as well as how different people and institutio­ns can come together for a noble cause,” said the statement by the community.

On Oct 1, the event will on at the CityOne Exhibition Centre here from 10am to 4pm; at SJK Chung Hua Lundu hall (Lundu) from 8am to 1pm; the Pantu Health Clinic ( Sri Aman) from 9am to 2pm; Rumah Anthony in Bintangor ( Sarikei and Sibu) from 9am to 2pm; Mahligai Hotel in Kapit from 8am to 2pm; and Limbang Hospital from 8am to noon.

On Oct 8, the drive will take place at Bintulu Times Square Megamall from 10am to 1pm while on Oct 15, it will be running at Medan Mall Mukah from 8am to 2pm.

On Oct 29, the event will be run at Kampung Triboh community hall in Serian 9am to 2pm, and at Simunjan Hospital from 8am to 1pm.
