S’wak Bahai community to hold Sunday blood donation drive throughout October
KUCHING: The Sarawak Bahai community will run blood donation drives across the state every Sunday throughout next month, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Bahá’u’lláh – the founder of the faith.
The Sarawak Bahai community will be joining over six million Bahais in some 100,000 localities worldwide for this celebration on Oct 22.
The statewide blood donation drive programme, which will lead up to the grand celebration, aims to collect at least 200 pints.
“All friends from diverse backgrounds – men and women, young and old – are welcomed to participate in this charitable act as service to society.
“Let us make this blood donation drive a success – one measured not only in terms of the quantity of pints collected, but also one that reflects the collective spirit of service as well as how different people and institutions can come together for a noble cause,” said the statement by the community.
