Social worker delivers aid to retirement home

KUCHING: The Home of Santa Clara, a retirement home located at Jalan Airport here, continues to receive support from good samaritans who purchase essential items to reduce its financial burden.

Voluntary social worker Lim Chee Haw recently delivered these items comprising adult diapers and foodstuff such as rice and cooking oil which were received by the Home’s representa­tive Sister Emelda Yan.

Lim, who has now performed 705 acts of charity, said it gave him great satisfacti­on to see the happy faces of the recipients.

“There are 12 residents in the Home, including some who have to use wheelchair to move around. I thank the good samaritans who have helped this Home. Some of the donors are not even Christians, but the difference in religion and belief did not stop them from giving to charity,” he enthused.

during bereavemen­t can look for him if they need help to get coffin for burial.

He revealed that good samaritans had purchased coffins which are now placed at a coffin shop in Kuching and ready to be delivered to the home of the poor and needy.
