Bama denies involvement with Sarawak Music Awards

-

KUCHING: Bidayuh Artistes and Musicians Association ( Bama) chairman Dr Alim Impira has claimed the association has no knowledge of its involvement in the inaugural Sarawak Music Awards (AMS).

He said he was very surprised by a recent news report naming Bama as one of the collaborators for this event which will be held on Dec 2 in Kuching.

“We were not consulted by the organisers,” he said yesterday to deny Bama’s participation in the event.

He was also puzzled as to whom the organisers contacted to get consent for Bama’s involvement in the event.

Based on the news report, AMS was said to be made possible with the co-operation of Sarawak Dayak Recording Industry Association ( Perisai), Bama and the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism ( KPDNKK).

Organised by JCI Sibu Jaya, the award presentation will be held at Penview Convention Centre in Kuching on Dec 2.

In each category winners will be selected through polls via Facebook and will each receive cash,a trophy and certificate.
