Ford launches Ranger XL Standard pick-up truck
KUCHING: Ford Motor Company and its local distribution partner Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) announced the nationwide launch of the Ford Ranger XL Standard pick- up truck yesterday.
A press statement said the vehicle is priced at RM83,588 on the road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia and RM89,388 in East Malaysia – making it one of the best priced models in Malaysia’s 4x4 hi-rider pick-up truck segment.
The Ranger XL Standard is available in Cool White and Meteor Grey, and offers unmatched capability and comfort.

With a class-leading ability to wade through water up to 800 millimetres deep, and with 230 millimetres of ground clearance, the Ranger XL Standard is for work or play, or a combination of both.
To balance power and fuel efficiency, the Ranger XL Standard is powered by a fourcylinder 2.2L TDCi diesel engine, putting out 125PS of power and 320Nm of torque, while its sixspeed manual transmission and 4x4 shift on the fly ( ESOF) give drivers ultimate control on the road to take on any challenge – be it river crossings, muddy slopes or other off-road terrain.
The Ranger XL Standard is equipped with a range of safety features – reinforced safety cell supplemented with dual front airbags, as well as head restraints, and three-point safety belts across all five seats.
Other key features include Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), which makes for safer stopping and cornering; Electronic Brake Force Distribution ( EBD) to assist in balancing braking force between front and rear wheels, depending on driving and vehicle load conditions; reverse sensors to help detect objects out of the driver’s sight; remote keyless entry; side steps; rear cargo load rest; and inner and outer truck bed tie downs.
