‘Don’t speed in front of Tudan Poliklinik’

-

MIRI: Public Works Department (JKR) is to paint yellow lines in front of Tudan Poliklinik to slow down traffic at this section of the recently completed road.

“The policlinic staff and members of public going there for treatment and checkup had voiced their concern over speeding vehicles in front of the policlinic. JKR was asked to paint this section of the road with yellow lines to remind motorists to slow down here,” said Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Heritage Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

Lee said the department had allocated 80 additional parking lots in front of the clinic as motorists used to ttake a long time looking for parking lots in the area.

“Due to the limited number of parking lots, most of them had to park by the roadside or any space they can find.”

The assistant minister who is also Senadin assemblyman urged the department to build an overhead bridge near the school for children and the public to cross the road from resettlements schemes near the area.

According to Lee, JKR will be looking for a budget for the proposed overhead bridge.

Earlier, Lee handed over 10 wheel chairs donated by Senadin Branch of Sarawak United People Party ( SUPP) to the policlinic, received by Dr Hartini Ahmed and witnessed by party members and policlinic senior staff.

The branch also donated 10 wheel chairs to Miri Kidney Dialysis Centre, Miri Hospital and Miri Red Crescent respectively.
