PCAM organises ‘Run for Love’ to raise funds

MIRI: ‘ Run for Love 2017’ organised by Palliative Care Associatio­n of Miri ( PCAM) has received 1,500 registrati­ons. The run scheduled for this Sunday will start at 6am from Marina Park City.

Organising Chairman and PCAM Treasurer, Richard Wong reminded runners to collect their race packs by Sept 30 at PCAM centre at Lot 406, Taman Piasau Edar, Piasau Garden.

The centre is open from 8.30am to 8pm (including lunch hours) on Sept 28 and 29 and 8.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday Sept 30.

Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin is scheduled to flag off the run which is divided into 3km, 5km and 10km.

‘We thank all runners and donors for their support in raising funds to cover PCAM’s operating expenses,’ said Wong to the Borneo Post yesterday.

PCAM is a non- government­al organisati­on providing free services to terminally ill patients who need palliative care and their family members. Among the services provided are regular home visits (upon request) to registered patients by trained nursing staff and volunteers, counsellin­g, fund-raising and hospital visits. It also operates a Day Care Centre, and provides loans for medical equipment.
