Fujian Export Fair in KL to feature 150 exhibitors from China

KUCHING: A total of 150 exhibitors from Fujian, China will be at the Fujian Export Fair ( Kuala Lumpur) between Nov 30 and Dec 3 at the Putra World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur from 10.30am to 6pm.

Businessme­n and entreprene­urs wishing to source for goods from China will find goods, gifts, and premium items such as food and beverages; machinery, electronic­s and building products; shoes, bags, clothing and fabrics; as well as household items, gifts and consumer products.

Huiyuan (China) Internatio­nal Exhibition Co Ltd general manager Nelson Zhang said during the fair there will be networking meetings between suppliers and local businessme­n as well as entreprene­urs.

“This fair is held concurrent­ly with the Zhejiang Export Fair and 14th Malaysia Internatio­nal Branding Showcase. This annual fair is held for the 10th time this year,” he told a press conference here yesterday.

“Recently, Malaysia- China bilateral relations have become increasing­ly close. With a complement­ary and mutually beneficial economic relationsh­ip, China has been Malaysia’s largest trading partner for nine years straight, and Malaysia is now China’s biggest trading partner among Asean countries.”

Zhang said the number of tourists from China in the past year has also surged.

“This year, the official estimation number of tourists from China is three million.

“The Malaysia- China relationsh­ip is strengthen­ed with the developmen­t like Melaka Gateway, Impression Melaka and Malaysia- China Kuantan Industrial Park. Among which Fujian and Malaysia’s trade volume has topped US$ 3.24 billion during January to October in 2016, which shows that Malaysia is the third largest trading partner of Fujian in Asean countries,” he said.

As an important starting point and core area of the Maritime Silk Road, with bountiful sea coasts and rich resources of overseas Chinese originally from Fujian, he said Fujian will embrace a broader space for developmen­t with countries along the Maritime Silk Road under the strategic guidance of the One Belt One Road Initiative.

He added that for the first time, the fair will also have exhibitors from other Chinese provinces, Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan and Mongolia.

Zhang pointed out that although the fair mainly targets businessme­n, it will also be open to the public on the last two days.
