RM20,000 worth of prizes up for grabs in Sarawak ICT Expo 2017 lucky draws

MIRI: Lucky draw prizes worth more than RM20,000 will be up for grabs throughout the threeday Sarawak ICT Expo 2017 at the indoor stadium here.

The event, to kick off this Oct 6, is jointly run by Miri City Council ( MCC) and Computer Sales and Services Associatio­n ( CSSA) Sarawak Miri branch, with Acer as the main IT sponsor.

The exposition will run from 11am to 9pm daily, offering attractive promotions on the latest ICT products as well as exciting activities for the visitors.

The exhibition, themed ‘ Your Digital Lifestyle Fair’, will feature the latest offerings of computers and related devices, as well as mobile communicat­ions, home appliances and consumer electronic­s.

According to event organising chairperso­n Alex Jong, the turnout for last year’s event was over 35,000.

“This year, the target turnout is 40,000 and above,” said Jong.

Seventy booths are beign set up for well-known brands such as Acer, Asus, Lenovo, HP, Canon, Epson, iPhone, Samsung, Huawei, Vivo, Oppo, Sharp, Apple and Panasonic. In comparison, there were 66 booths last year

Telecommun­ications (telco) giants Celcom, Digi, Maxis, U Mobile, Tune Talk and Red One will also take part in the expo, while Telekom Malaysia will showcase its latest broadband and telco offerings.

“This year, we have six programmes for the public – the ‘ Early Bird’s Special’, ‘ Wheel of Fortune’, daily lucky draws, the ‘ Lucky 150’, the ‘ Everyday Free RM5 Cash Voucher’, and ‘You Buy It, We Pay It’.

“The ‘Early Bird Special’ offers 100 special- priced items only in the morning of Oct 6 (Friday), on the ‘fi rst- come, fi rst- serve’ basis. The registrati­on will commence at 9am,” Jong told The Borneo Post here yesterday.

He said among the items on offer under the ‘ Early Bird Special’ are three units of Acer Predator Gaming Tablet at RM549 per unit (normal price RM1,499), an Acer Predator G9 Gamer Notebook at RM3,199 per unit (normal price RM5,999), and two units of Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 320 at RM688 per unit (normal price RM1,399).

For ‘ Wheel of Fortune’, those with a minimum purchase of RM100 made during the carnival are eligible to participat­e, while for the daily lucky draws, they are open to those who make any minimum purchase of RM100 and above in a single receipt.

The prizes on offer are Acer One 10 (for fi rst day), Asus Vivobook (for second day) and Acer One 10 (for last day).

Meanwhile, a draw will be carried out once every 150 transactio­ns for the ‘ Lucky 150’, which is offering two products as prizes – the Acer One 10 2-in1 Switch and Canon E410 colour inkjet printer.

The ‘Everyday Free RM5 Cash Voucher’ is another exciting programme where at 11am every day throughout the three days, 100 pieces of RM5 cash vouchers will be given away to the visitors.

Meanwhile the ‘You Buy It, We Pay It’ is a programme where a visitor who spends RM300 and above in a single receipt would qualify for the draw, from which the grand winner will receive a rebate up to a maximum of RM1,000 – depending on the amount of the winning receipt.

The second prize for this draw is a rebate up to a maximum of RM600 – depending on the amount of the winning receipt.
